Since 2006, Mideast Youth has been creating platforms and web applications that amplify diverse voices of dissent, with a specific focus on access to information, free speech, and minority rights. Their sites are designed to be tools in the hands of those seeking social change, providing an outlet that bridges the gap between their voice and the world’s attention.
For eight years (2008–2016), I occasionally helped with their digital storytelling, which meant producing videos with a very low budget within a short period of time. I would receive a script and the rest was up to me. Over time this really helped me with my writing, and most importantly, with editing to its most simple form to convey an idea.
